Silk in Spain

Azuba is a partner of Silk in Spain. Silk provides a software-defined storage platform designed to run databases and critical applications on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud with predictable performance, low latency and better cost efficiency. Its architecture decouples performance and capacity, so each application gets the resources it actually needs without continuously oversizing cloud infrastructure.

High performance storage

Move critical applications to the cloud without giving up performance

Enterprise databases need consistent performance even when the number of users, transactions or applications accessing data at once grows. Silk is a high-performance storage layer on cloud infrastructure, delivering sub-millisecond latency, high throughput and IOPS, and letting you scale performance and capacity independently.

One platform for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud

Silk provides a common architecture for data-intensive workloads on the main public cloud providers. That keeps a more consistent experience across clouds and makes applications easier to move without redesigning them for each provider.

Databases and critical applications

Silk targets workloads that need high performance and availability. The platform lets you migrate existing applications to the cloud without refactoring them only to overcome cloud storage performance limits.

Oracle

Oracle databases in cloud with predictable performance.

Microsoft SQL Server

SQL Server and enterprise transactional workloads.

Enterprise databases and applications

Transactional applications, real-time analytics and SaaS.

AI workloads on production data

High-performance access when AI needs operational data in cloud.

More performance without oversizing the cloud

Independent performance and capacity

In traditional cloud architectures, increasing performance can force you to buy more capacity, disks or VMs than you really need. Silk separates both dimensions so each can scale to the application's needs.

Cost optimization

Thin provisioning, deduplication and compression, together with better sizing of compute and storage resources, help reduce overprovisioning and optimize the cost of data-intensive workloads.

Resilience for critical applications

Silk's distributed, active-active architecture is designed to keep applications available through cloud infrastructure failures or incidents. The platform also includes protection, snapshots, replication and recovery for enterprise workloads that need high continuity.

Silk and Azuba

Azuba brings Silk to organizations that want to migrate or run databases and critical applications in the cloud without compromising performance, availability or cost efficiency. We work with Silk specialists to analyse workloads and assess how to improve performance and optimize resources on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.

Common questions

Which clouds does Silk support?

The vendor targets AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud with a common architecture across providers.

Does Silk replace Everpure or WEKA?

No. Silk covers cloud storage for critical applications. Everpure covers on-premises enterprise storage; WEKA covers AI, GPU and HPC. They are not interchangeable.
